We are currently accepting donations of all kinds.
Guidance for Donating Books
We appreciate all book donations. For us to be able to rehome them, though, they need to be in very good condition.
One or two small to medium boxes are welcome any time from 10am to 5pm any day we are open (including weekends).
The books should be in very good condition.
Books will be sorted on-site at drop off. We’d appreciate it if you can wait while we sort through the books. Any we can’t accept will be given back to you. Please do not be offended if we say no to unsaleable items as it costs us to dispose of them.
Feel free to contact us if you have a larger donation. You can use the form below or ring us on 09 360 1741.
Books we can use:
Nice books in really good condition (no damage or yellowing)
Books we can’t use:
Books with stains, mould or other damage such as rips, scribbles, highlighting or water damage
Books that have library markings (stamps or stickers etc. on them)
Textbooks that have dated content (such as computing, marketing, law and accounting books)
Magazines (except for New Zealand Geographic and National Geographic)
Books that need to be thrown away!
We don’t expect every book to be perfect but it’s a big help to us to reduce the number of books that we need to dispose of.
Note: Books that have been stored in basements or garages may have suffered any of the following:
Insect damage
Heat damage or warping
Water damage
Yellowing
